Key Advantages and Drawbacks

OKX documents its own terms in enough detail for the strengths and weaknesses below to be set out from primary sources: the published fee schedule, the monthly proof-of-reserves reports, the Web3 wallet documentation and the regulators’ registers as they stood in 2026. None of what follows rests on a funded account, whether at 800 dollars or at any other balance: no account was opened, no coin was bought or sold, and no withdrawal was requested for this review.

Advantages:

  • Highly competitive spot trading fees, starting at 0.08% for the maker and 0.10% for the taker, among the lowest in the digital-asset exchange industry
  • A wide range of digital assets, running to more than 350 currencies across more than 500 trading pairs
  • A built-in Web3 wallet supporting more than 120 blockchain networks, with direct access to decentralised finance protocols (DeFi)
  • A VARA licence from the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority in Dubai, which lets the exchange serve clients in the UAE under a regulated framework
  • A monthly proof-of-reserves programme (Proof of Reserves) built on zk-STARK technology and audited by Hacken
  • Both the web platform and the app support Arabic in full
  • No minimum deposit on digital-asset deposits

Drawbacks:

  • A weak Trustpilot score (2.1 out of 5), with recurring complaints about customer service and slow responses
  • A 505 million dollar settlement with the US Department of Justice in February 2025 over operating an unlicensed money transmitting business, which raises questions about the exchange’s historical regulatory compliance
  • Customer service leans heavily on a chat robot (Chatbot), and reaching a human representative can take a long time
  • The platform is not available to residents of the United States, and some services are restricted in particular countries
  • The interface is dense, and can be bewildering for a beginner with no prior experience of digital assets

On the terms it publishes, OKX suits intermediate and advanced traders after low fees, a broad selection of digital assets and advanced instruments such as perpetual futures and the Web3 wallet. It may not be the easiest entry point for someone coming to digital assets for the first time.

Company Information

OKX was founded in 2017 as an international digital-asset exchange under the name OKEx, an extension of the OKCoin platform that Star Xu (Mingxing Xu) founded in Beijing in 2013. The company renamed itself OKX in January 2022 to reflect its expansion beyond conventional trading into Web3 and decentralised finance services. In April 2025 it moved its head office to San Jose, California, following the settlement with the US Department of Justice, while the exchange’s international entity remains registered in the Seychelles.

As of February 2026, OKX has published a proof-of-reserves report every month since November 2022, reaching 39 consecutive reports by early 2026. That level of disclosure puts it among the more open exchanges in the industry. Total assets held exceed 30 billion dollars, with reserve ratios above 100% for every audited major asset.

On global reach, OKX serves more than 100 million users in more than 160 countries, with offices in San Jose, New York, Dubai, Singapore, Turkey, Australia, Brazil and several European cities. In March 2026, ICE, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, announced an investment in OKX at a valuation of 25 billion dollars, which points to a high degree of institutional confidence in the platform’s future.

Is OKX a scam? The question recurs in Arabic search. On the public record, no. The exchange has operated since 2017, holds licences from regulators in several countries, publishes a monthly proof of reserves audited by a third party, and has more than 100 million users. It has to be acknowledged, though, that the 505 million dollar settlement with the US Department of Justice in 2025 is a negative mark on the firm’s regulatory record. That settlement concerns an earlier period in which the exchange accepted US clients without the appropriate licence. Since then it has committed to not serving residents of the United States and has strengthened its compliance programme. Readers wanting to vet an exchange independently can start with the guide to how to spot fraudulent trading firms.

Why Traders Might Choose OKX

Several factors set OKX apart from other digital-asset exchanges, judged by what the platform publishes about its own service. None of them makes it the right venue for every trader, but they do make it a strong option for particular kinds of investor.

Fees among the lowest in the industry: the base spot trading fees (0.08% maker and 0.10% taker) sit below those of most major competitors. For an active trader that difference compounds materially over time. Holding the exchange’s own OKB token brings a further discount of up to 40% on fees.

A broad selection of digital assets: with more than 350 currencies and more than 500 trading pairs, OKX offers more choice than Coinbase (fewer than 300 coins) and comes close to the Binance range. That matters to anyone wanting exposure to newer projects or to less prominent altcoins.

The built-in Web3 wallet: the OKX Web3 wallet reaches more than 120 blockchain networks from inside the app or the browser extension. It supports participation in decentralised finance protocols (DeFi), token exchange across chains (cross-chain swap) and browsing of the NFT marketplace, with no external wallet required. Integration between the centralised exchange and the decentralised side is rarely this complete.

Regulation across several jurisdictions: the VARA licence in Dubai and the MiCA authorisation in the European Union put OKX in a stronger regulatory position than many competing digital-asset exchanges. For traders in the UAE specifically, it means deposits and withdrawals in dirhams through local banks. On what a licence does and does not establish, the guide to licences in the trading industry sets out the detail.

Advanced trading instruments: OKX offers spot trading, perpetual futures, options (Options), margin trading, automated trading bots and copy trading (Copy Trading). That range makes it a comprehensive venue for a variety of digital-asset strategies.

Licences and Regulation

Each licence OKX holds can be checked on the register of the authority that issued it. As of February 2026, the regulatory position of OKX has changed markedly over recent years: the exchange moved from operating without clear authorisations in its early phase to holding licences in several major jurisdictions.

OKX SingaporeMAS (Singapore)MPI licenceTier 1Singapore
OKX AustraliaASIC (Australia)ASIC licenceTier 1Australia
Aux Cayes FinTech Co. LtdFSA (Seychelles)Not publicly statedTier 3International markets

Is OKX genuinely licensed? Yes, and the record is public. For the VARA licence in Dubai, the public register of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (vara.ae) returns OKX Middle East Fintech FZE against VASP licence number VL/23/12/003, with permissions covering virtual-asset trading, management, investment and lending services. The MAS licence in Singapore and the ASIC licence in Australia can be checked on those authorities’ own websites.

What does that mean in practice for a trader in the Arab region? A resident of the UAE deals with the OKX Middle East entity, which is supervised by VARA; that is what allows deposits and withdrawals in dirhams through local banks, and it brings the entity inside the UAE consumer-protection rulebook. A resident of another Arab country, Saudi Arabia, Egypt or Jordan among them, will in most cases deal with the international entity registered in the Seychelles, which answers to a lighter regime. Establishing which register an exchange actually appears on is worth doing before any deposit.

An important note on the US settlement: in February 2025, OKX agreed to pay 505 million dollars to the US Department of Justice after being charged with operating an unlicensed money transmitting business and accepting US clients without complying with local law. The settlement concerns practices that predate the strengthening of its compliance programme. Since then the company has moved its head office to California and substantially reinforced its KYC and AML procedures. In fairness, other exchanges have faced comparable action, Binance having paid 4.3 billion dollars in 2023, and that reflects a phase of regulatory maturation across the digital-asset industry as a whole.

Opening an Account and Verification

As of February 2026, opening an account is a direct process handled in the app, and the exchange advertises it as taking under 10 minutes including identity verification. Initial registration asks only for an email address or a phone number and a password.

Identity verification (KYC) runs in two stages. The first asks for a full name, an identity or passport number, a date of birth and a country of residence, and is handled in a few minutes. The second asks for a photograph (Selfie) alongside the identity document, plus a facial scan through the camera. No guaranteed turnaround is published for the second stage.

Without completed verification, withdrawals are tightly capped. Once full verification is in place, the daily withdrawal limit rises to 200 bitcoin or the equivalent, which is generous next to most competing exchanges.

Traders new to digital assets who want to understand the basic steps can turn to the guide to opening a trading account, which sets out the process in general terms across different platforms.

The account-opening steps in brief:

  • Download the OKX app or visit the official site and enter an email address or a phone number
  • Complete identity verification (KYC) by uploading an identity document and a photograph
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) through the Google Authenticator app or by SMS
  • Deposit digital assets, or buy them directly in local currency

Account Types and Trading Tiers

OKX works on a tier system (Tiers) rather than the separate account types traditional forex brokers use. Every user gets the same platform and the same tools; what changes with the tier are the fees and the limits, set by monthly trading volume and by OKB holdings. The design is simple, and it rewards the most active traders materially.

TierMonthly trading volume or asset holdingsMaker fee (Spot)Taker fee (Spot)Best suited to
Ordinary userLess than 5 million dollars0.080%0.100%Beginners and ordinary investors
VIP 15 million dollars, or 100,000 dollars in assets0.045%0.050%Intermediate traders
VIP 210 million dollars, or 500,000 dollars in assets0.030%0.045%Active traders
VIP 3+20 million dollars and above0.020%0.035%Professional traders and institutions
Market makers (top tier)By agreement-0.005% (rebate)0.015%Professional market makers

The point that matters is that even an ordinary user with no great trading volume gets competitive fees (0.08%/0.10%) next to platforms such as Coinbase, which starts at 0.60% for the maker. Holding the OKB token, the exchange’s own, brings a further discount of up to 40% on trading fees.

Sub-account creation: OKX allows sub-accounts (Sub-accounts) to be created, which is useful to traders who want to keep different strategies apart or run several portfolios from one main account.

A note on Islamic trading: unlike traditional forex brokers, OKX does not offer an Islamic account in the conventional swap-free sense. Spot trading in digital assets (Spot) carries no overnight charge, because the coin itself is owned. Perpetual futures, by contrast, carry a funding charge (Funding Rate), a different mechanism from the swap but one raising comparable questions of religious ruling. A qualified religious authority is the right place to put that question.

Fees and Trading Costs

Trading fees are among the factors bearing most directly on a trader’s profitability, the more so in digital assets, where some traders place dozens of orders a day. The comparison below sets the published OKX fee schedule against three major platforms: Binance, Bybit and Coinbase.

Spot Trading Fees (Spot)

On the schedule published in February 2026, OKX runs a highly competitive fee structure. The base fees for an ordinary user are 0.08% for the maker (Maker) and 0.10% for the taker (Taker). Those sit slightly below Binance and Bybit, and well below Coinbase.

PlatformMaker fee (base tier)Taker fee (base tier)Discount via platform tokenLowest fee available (VIP)
OKX0.080%0.100%Up to 40% via OKBMaker: -0.005% / taker: 0.015%
Binance0.100%0.100%25% via BNBMaker: -0.005% / taker: 0.015%
Bybit0.100%0.100%Not availableMaker: -0.015% / taker: 0.025%
Coinbase0.600%1.200%Not availableMaker: 0.000% / taker: 0.050%

As the table shows, OKX undercuts Binance and Bybit on the base maker fee (0.08% against 0.10%). Coinbase charges an ordinary trader considerably more and becomes competitive only at institutional volumes. Worked through on those published rates, a 500-dollar bitcoin purchase on OKX costs 0.50 dollars in taker fees at 0.10%, against roughly 6 dollars for the same order on Coinbase.

Futures Trading Fees

Trading fees on perpetual futures (Perpetual Futures) at OKX start at 0.020% for the maker and 0.050% for the taker at the base tier, which is competitive with Binance and Bybit. On top of the fee sits the funding rate (Funding Rate), which resets every 8 hours and depends on the relationship between the contract price and the spot price.

Deposit and Withdrawal Fees

Depositing digital assets into OKX is free from the exchange’s side, with no fee on any digital-asset deposit whatever network is used. Withdrawal fees cover the cost of the network charge (Gas fees) and vary by asset and by the network chosen. Withdrawing USDT over the Tron network (TRC-20) costs about 1 USDT, for instance, while withdrawing BTC over the main bitcoin network costs about 0.0002 BTC. These fees are dynamic and move with network congestion.

A USDT deposit over the Tron network credits once the network has confirmed the transfer, and the app shows the network fee plainly before a withdrawal is confirmed, which is a welcome piece of transparency.

Conversion Fees

OKX allows digital assets to be exchanged for one another inside the platform (Convert) with no visible fee, but that does not make the conversion free. The cost is built into the spread (spread) between the buy price and the sell price, so the same conversion executed on the spot order book is normally the cheaper route.

Inactivity Fees

OKX charges nothing for inactivity. An account can be left without trading for any length of time and nothing is deducted from it. That differs from some other trading platforms, which levy a dormancy fee once a set period has passed.

Overall Assessment of Fees

The OKX fee structure is among the most competitive in the digital-asset exchange industry. An ordinary user pays less as a maker on spot trading than on Binance, and considerably less than on Coinbase. The absence of deposit fees and of any inactivity charge adds to that. Withdrawal fees are reasonable and track the real network cost. The single negative is that the one-tap conversion route (Convert) carries a spread inside the price that a beginner may not notice.

Desktop Trading Platforms

OKX offers several routes to trading on the desktop, each aimed at a different kind of trader.

The web platform (okx.com): the main platform runs in the browser and carries every function, spot trading, futures, options, margin trading, trading bots, conversion, price monitoring and advanced charting among them. The interface is customisable, and windows and tools can be arranged to preference. Charting comes from the built-in TradingView integration for technical analysis.

The desktop application (Windows/Mac): OKX publishes a dedicated application for Windows and MacOS. Its functions are close to identical to the web platform’s, and it supports native notifications, which is useful to anyone watching markets continuously.

The application programming interface (API): for automated traders and developers, OKX publishes a substantial API supporting REST and WebSocket. The API allows every trading operation to be driven programmatically, with live market data and account information alongside it. The API documentation is comprehensive and is published in English.

Technical analysis tools: the charts are built on the TradingView engine and carry more than 100 technical indicators and 80+ drawing tools. Several timeframes can be displayed at once and prices compared across trading pairs. Set against platforms such as Binance, the analysis toolkit at OKX is comparable on published feature counts.

Mobile Trading Apps

In a digital-asset market that runs around the clock every day of the week, the phone app becomes an essential tool for following prices and dealing at any hour. What follows describes the OKX app as published for Android as of February 2026.

The app comes in two versions: the main OKX app for trading on the centralised platform, and the OKX Wallet app for interacting with blockchain networks and the Web3 wallet. Both support Arabic in full across the interface and the menus.

The interface is clean and clearly organised. The home screen carries live prices and the day’s biggest movers, with quick routes into spot trading, futures, the Web3 wallet and the Earn products. Order execution speed on the app is not assessed here.

The app took a “most technically reliable” award from TradingView in 2023, and it carries good marks on the app stores alongside millions of downloads worldwide.

Available Trading Instruments

OKX offers a wide range of digital-asset trading and investment products. The table below follows the product list the exchange publishes, with the depth of each service noted where it is documented.

The breadth of the product range is one of the principal strengths at OKX. The platform covers everything from a simple bitcoin purchase through to complex options strategies. The Web3 wallet in particular sets OKX apart from many competitors, opening decentralised finance from within the same account.

Among the most heavily traded assets on the platform are bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA) and Polkadot (DOT), alongside stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. The USDT pairs are the most liquid on the platform.

Beginners who want to understand the basics of investing in digital assets before starting can work through the trading and investing fundamentals section to build a solid base first.

Order Execution

Execution quality is difficult to establish from outside a funded account, and no order-level data is presented here. What can be described is the infrastructure OKX publishes, and the order types it makes available.

On spot trading, the deepest order books are on the main pairs such as BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT, which is where slippage is least likely. Neither fill speed nor slippage is measured in this review, on those pairs or on any other, and how a given pair behaves around a sharp move, such as a US economic release, is not assessed.

The order types available at OKX are comprehensive and cover most requirements:

  • Market orders (Market), limit orders (Limit) and stop orders (Stop)
  • OCO orders, where one cancels the other, and Trailing Stop orders
  • Iceberg and TWAP orders, for large positions meant to be worked gradually without moving the price
  • Conditional orders (Conditional), which link several orders under defined conditions

The matching engine at OKX handles millions of orders a second, on the company’s own statement. That is a claim about infrastructure capacity, published by the exchange rather than confirmed independently.

Deposit Methods

OKX offers a range of deposit methods covering digital assets and traditional (fiat) currencies alike. The published routes, their minimums and their stated processing times are set out below.

Deposit methodMinimumProcessing timeOKX fee

P2P trading (peer to peer)Varies by offerSet by the counterpartiesFree
Dirham deposit (for clients in the UAE)Per the bank1-2 business daysPer the bank

A USDT transfer over the Tron network from an external wallet credits after a single network confirmation, and is the fastest and cheapest of the deposit routes.

For traders in the UAE, OKX supports deposits and withdrawals in dirhams (AED) through local banks, on the strength of the VARA licence. That matters, because it takes out a currency-conversion cost and simplifies the process considerably.

Buying digital assets directly with a card is possible through third-party providers such as Banxa, Simplex and MoonPay. Their charges are set by the provider rather than by the exchange: at a rate of about 2.5%, a 100-dollar purchase of USDT through Banxa carries roughly 2.50 dollars in fees. That is dearer than depositing an asset already held, but it is a reasonable price for speed.

Withdrawal Methods

Withdrawal routes at OKX cover digital-asset withdrawals to an external wallet and fiat withdrawals by bank transfer in supported countries. Both are initiated from the app or from the web platform.

Can money be withdrawn from OKX? And what about the reports of OKX withdrawal problems? The question recurs in Arabic searches for the platform. As of the first quarter of 2026, a digital-asset withdrawal completes once the chosen network confirms it, which makes the timing a property of the network rather than of the exchange: USDT over Tron settles fastest, ETH over the Ethereum network depends on gas conditions, and BTC over the bitcoin network waits on block confirmations. No withdrawal was requested for this review, so no settlement time is reported as observed.

Withdrawal methodProcessing timeOKX feeNotes

Bank transfer (in supported countries)1-3 business daysPer the bank and the countryAvailable to VARA clients in the UAE
Internal transfer (to another OKX account)InstantFreeNo network fee

One important note: a large withdrawal can be subject to additional security review, and verification by two-factor authentication, by email, or by both may be requested. That is a routine security measure rather than an obstruction.

The complaints circulating in Arabic forums about withdrawals from OKX relate for the most part to accounts where verification (KYC) was never completed, or to accounts restricted for suspicious activity. For a fully verified account, nothing in the public record points to a systematic withdrawal problem.

Customer Support

Support quality at OKX is not a scored category here, because scoring it would require contacting the desk. What can be established from outside is which channels the exchange publishes and which languages it lists for each, as they stood in February 2026.

The chat robot (Chatbot): this is the first channel presented when support is opened. It recognises common questions and returns quick answers with links to help-centre articles. It is built for simple queries, such as how to enable 2FA or where the transaction history sits, and is not designed for complex problems.

Human support over live chat: past the robot, a human representative can be requested. OKX publishes no target wait for that step, and does not undertake to provide Arabic-language cover on it even though the interface itself is translated. Neither the wait nor the language actually offered is assessed here.

Email and the ticket system: written enquiries are handled through a ticket system. No target turnaround is published for a ticket, and turnaround is not measured here. On support responsiveness, the competitor most often set against it is Bybit.

The help centre: carries a comprehensive knowledge base of hundreds of articles in English, with some of them translated into Arabic. Coverage of the common questions is good.

ChannelAvailabilityArabicResponse time (unverified)
Chat robot24/7LimitedImmediate
Live chat (human)24/7Not continuously available5-15 minutes
Ticket system24/7Not guaranteed12-24 hours
Help centreAlwaysSome articles in ArabicImmediate (self-service)
TelephoneNot availableNot availableNot available

Customer service is among the weaker aspects of OKX on the published record. There is no telephone channel, human Arabic-language cover is not offered continuously, and no target is set for reaching a human representative. The low Trustpilot score (2.1 out of 5) reflects user dissatisfaction with support in part. Readers for whom Arabic-language support is the first priority may be better served elsewhere, by BitOasis for instance, which is built around the Arab market.

Research and Educational Material

The educational material OKX publishes is broad and varied, covering levels from beginner through to advanced, but it is available chiefly in English with only limited Arabic translation.

The OKX Learn academy: hundreds of educational articles covering everything from blockchain and bitcoin basics through to options strategies and decentralised finance. The material is kept current and clearly written. Some articles are available in Arabic, though the coverage is not complete.

Market reports and analysis: OKX publishes regular market reports carrying technical and fundamental analysis of the leading digital assets. They appear on a regular schedule and are written in English only.

A demo account (Demo): OKX provides a demo account for trading with virtual funds. That is a useful feature, particularly for beginners who want to learn the platform and practise without risking real money. The demo environment tracks live market prices.

Interactive learning tools: OKX offers simplified trading bots such as the Grid Bot and the DCA Bot, with built-in explanations that help a trader see how an automated strategy works. Those tools put instruction and practice in the same place.

Overall, the educational content at OKX is good on depth and range, but it falls short on full Arabic localisation. Readers after in-depth Arabic material on digital assets and trading will want to supplement it from specialist sources such as the financial analysis guide on this site.

Fund Safety and Safeguards

The safety of client assets is among the most important factors in choosing a digital-asset platform, the more so after the collapses the industry has seen, FTX in 2022 among them. The security policies OKX published as of February 2026 amount to several layers worth examining separately.

Proof of reserves (Proof of Reserves): this is among the strongest security features at OKX. The exchange publishes a proof-of-reserves report every month, 39 of them consecutively by early 2026, confirming reserve ratios above 100% for every audited major asset, BTC, ETH, USDT and USDC included. The reports use zk-STARK technology to verify the figures without exposing individual user information, and are audited by the specialist firm Hacken. The effect is that client balances are backed in full by real on-chain assets, a level of disclosure well ahead of many competing platforms.

Cold storage (Cold Storage): OKX holds more than 95% of client assets in cold wallets (offline) that are not connected to the internet. Hot wallets, the connected ones, hold less than 5% of total assets and serve only day-to-day operational liquidity. Every cold wallet address is secured with multi-signature technology (Multi-Signature), which requires several independent keys before any transfer can be approved.

Account-level security: several layers are available, among them two-factor authentication (2FA) by app or SMS, an anti-phishing code (Anti-Phishing Code) that appears in official emails, and email and telephone verification on withdrawals. All of them are configured from the account security settings.

The security record: OKX has suffered no major breach across its operating history. The one notable security incident came in June 2024, when a flaw in the two-factor authentication system was found to have affected just two users subjected to a SIM Swap attack; the flaw was closed immediately. That relatively clean record strengthens confidence in the platform.

The self-custody Web3 wallet: the OKX Web3 wallet is a self-custody wallet (Self-Custody), which means the private keys stay with the holder and OKX does not hold them. That adds a layer of security for anyone who prefers complete control of their digital assets.

On fund safety overall: OKX is among the more transparent platforms in the industry, on the strength of the monthly proof-of-reserves programme and the zk-STARK technology behind it. The high cold-storage share (95%+) and the clean security record add to that. It is worth remembering, though, that any centralised platform carries inherent risks, whether a breach, an insolvency or a frozen account, which is why holding every digital asset on a single platform is unwise. A personal cold wallet is the better home for a long-term holding.

The Verdict

OKX is a capable and comprehensive digital-asset platform, offering an advanced trading experience at competitive cost, with some reservations that need weighing. What follows summarises the position as the exchange published it in the first quarter of 2026.

Who OKX suits:

  • Intermediate and advanced traders after low fees and a varied set of trading instruments
  • Digital-asset investors who want a range running beyond 350 currencies
  • Traders interested in decentralised finance (DeFi) and in the built-in Web3 wallet
  • Residents of the UAE who want a locally licensed platform, authorised by VARA, with dirham support
  • Active traders who stand to gain from the tier system and its fee discounts

Who it may not suit:

  • Beginners with no prior experience of digital assets, who need a very simple interface
  • Anyone who puts fast, comprehensive Arabic-language support first
  • Anyone looking for a platform licensed by the regulator in their own Arab country, outside the UAE

The common concerns, addressed:

On the “Is OKX a scam?” question that recurs in Arabic search: on the licence registers and the published reserve reports, no. The platform has operated since 2017, holds licences in several jurisdictions, has more than 100 million users and publishes an audited proof of reserves every month. The 505 million dollar settlement with the US Department of Justice does show that the company ran into regulatory compliance problems in the past. On telling reputable platforms from fraudulent ones, see the guide to fraud in the trading market.

On “OKX withdrawal problems”: most of the complaints in circulation concern accounts where verification was never completed, or accounts restricted on security grounds. No withdrawal was made for this review, so nothing here is offered as first-hand evidence either way.

On “Is OKX halal?”: that is a question of religious ruling and falls outside the scope of this review. Spot trading, the actual purchase and sale of a digital asset, stands on different ground from futures and from margin trading. A qualified religious authority is the right place to put the question.

The overall picture is of a complete and capable platform in its field, with competitive fees, advanced custody arrangements and a broad instrument range. The principal reservations concern customer service and the regulatory history. The broker reviews page is the place to compare it against other options before a decision is made.

Frequently asked questions about OKX

Is OKX licensed and trustworthy?

Yes. OKX holds licences from several regulators, among them VARA in Dubai (VL/23/12/003), MiCA in the European Union through Malta, MAS in Singapore and ASIC in Australia. The VARA licence can be checked directly on the public register of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority in Dubai (vara.ae). It is worth noting, though, that traders in Arab countries outside the UAE may deal with the Seychelles entity, which answers to a lighter regime.

What are the trading fees at OKX?

The base spot trading fees are 0.08% for the maker (Maker) and 0.10% for the taker (Taker). They can be cut substantially by holding the OKB token, a discount of up to 40%, or by raising monthly volume to reach a higher VIP tier. Futures fees start at 0.020% for the maker and 0.050% for the taker.

Can digital assets be bought in dirhams on OKX?

Yes, for a resident of the UAE. On the strength of the VARA licence in Dubai, OKX supports deposits and withdrawals in dirhams (AED) through local banks. Digital assets can also be bought directly by card through third-party providers such as Banxa and Simplex.

Is OKX safe for holding digital assets?

OKX follows advanced security practices: more than 95% of assets held in cold wallets, an audited monthly proof of reserves built on zk-STARK technology, and multi-signature control over the wallets. The platform has suffered no major breach. Even so, keeping every asset on any centralised platform is unwise, and a personal cold wallet is the better home for a long-term holding.

What is the difference between OKX and Binance?

Both are among the largest digital-asset platforms in the world. OKX has the lower maker fee (0.08% against 0.10%) and the more developed Web3 wallet. Binance has deeper liquidity, more listed assets, a wider user base and broader geographic reach. Both offer advanced trading instruments, futures and Earn products.

Is an Arabic interface available at OKX?

Yes. The app and the website both support Arabic across the interface and the menus. Live customer service in Arabic is not available at all hours, however, and most of the educational content is in English.
