What is in a review

The same four things, in the same order, for every broker — so two reviews can be read against each other

The legal entity

Which company you would actually be contracting with, not the brand on the homepage — and how that changes depending on where you live.

The licence, by number

Every regulator the entity is authorised by, with the licence number and the authorising jurisdiction, read from the regulator’s own public register.

What it costs

Spreads, commissions, overnight financing, deposit and withdrawal charges and inactivity fees, taken from the published fee schedule.

The date it was checked

Every factual claim carries the date its source was read. Fee schedules and licences change, and a page that is out of date says so.

Every rating comes from a published method

The criteria, the weightings and the evidence each score is derived from are written down and open to check

Before you rely on anything here

  • Some broker links are paid links. If you follow one and open an account, this site may be paid a commission. Those links are labelled where they appear. A commercial relationship does not move a rating or a position in the ordering — the about page sets out the full arrangement.
  • Nothing here is financial advice, a recommendation, or an offer. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of rapid loss, and most retail investor accounts lose money trading them. Read the disclaimer.
